June 2017 ipsy Review

Saturday, June 24, 2017

Hello lovely people! Today I'm talking about my June ipsy bag. I really liked the bag design this month! I feel like ipsy really has been giving us cute bags these past few months!
{Join ipsy here if you'd like.}

Okay now to the fun stuff...

The products in my bag:

- City Color Bold Brow Eyebrow Powder in Medium. At first I wasn't sure if this was the right shade for me. I thought it was a bit on the light side. But it turned out okay. It gave my eyebrows a natural and tamed look.

- BioRepublic SkinCare Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask & Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask. I love face masks and I love when I get them in an ipsy bag! I haven't used these yet. However, I have used masks from this brand in the past and I really liked them. So I am looking forward to trying these out! :)

- NYX Professional Makeup Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé in Pink Cloud. I used this the other day and I really enjoyed it. I used it on my lips and cheeks. It felt very creamy, soft, and moisturizing on my lips. The color is a really beautiful soft & bright pink. I love this shade because it's colorful but at the same time it's not too bright and overpowering. It's the perfect color for the summer! On my cheeks it gave a nice flushed pink color. I think it looked nice. I'm excited to use this product more.

- theBalm Cosmetics Balm Springs Blush. This is a really nice shade and it's very pigmented. However, I'm not really a fan of getting theBalm samples in my bag because I feel like they're so tiny and you don't really get a lot of use out of them. Needless to say, I was a bit bummed to be getting this. Especially because I put in my beauty profile that I didn't want it. I'll still use it because like I said, it's a good product. I just wish they'd give us a bit bigger samples.

- Skone Cosmetics Insanely Intense Tattooed Waterproof Eyeliner. Again, I was confused as to why I received this when I put in my beauty profile that I didn't want an eyeliner. I don't really use eyeliner very often. With that said, this product is really pigmented and I'll have to try it out on a day when I'm wanting to attempt a winged look. Eyeliner is a good thing to have around and I don't have many.

And lastly, I turned in some of my ipsy points and got this face mask from bioBelle. I previously received this in an ipsy bag back in Feburary and I really loved it!

What did you beauties get in your ipsy this month?

Maybelline Fit Me! Loose Finishing Powder Review

Friday, June 23, 2017

Hey guys! Thanks for visiting my little blog. Today I wanted to briefly talk about this product that I recently received in an Influenster VoxBox for testing purposes. All opinions stated are 100% my own! For those of you who don't know what Influenster is, it's a site that you review products on and take surveys that are emailed to you so you can be matched with a sample to review.

Okay so, let me start off by saying that I'm usually not a fan of face products that are powdered. I tend to have dry skin so it ends up settling in any dry patches on my face. However, with this product that didn't happen. It set my foundation and gave my face a nice finish. I was pleasantly surprised with this product!

Here is a picture after I used it. I know, the photo isn't very good quality but hopefully you can see how it worked on my skin.

Thank you Influenster & Maybelline for sending me this product to test out! I really enjoyed it and I'll most likely be buying it myself when I run out.

Have you guys tried this product or any others from the Maybelline Fit Me! collection? Let me know below in the comments! :)

Pure Body Naturals Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Thursday, June 22, 2017

Hey everyone! So today I wanted to talk about a product that I have been using for a while now that I love. And that's the Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure Body Naturals. This mask is supposed to minimize your pores, clear up acne,  remove toxins, & hydrate your skin.

I use a flat foundation brush to apply the mask. You can buy cheap mask brushes online through Amazon if you don't have an extra brush around your house.

I apply a thin layer all over my freshly washed face making sure to avoid the area around my eyes and mouth.  I leave it on for about 10-15 minutes then I rinse it off and pat my skin dry. I then use toner and then I put on my face moisturizer.

--

I really love this mask. It does everything that it claims to and it's affordable. You can find it on Amazon for about $14. It lasts a long time too - I've had my jar for nearly a year now and it's still pretty full!

If your skin in need of some hydration, blemish control, or some pore minimizing action then I definitely suggest using this mask! If you're interested in trying this out you can purchase it here.

What are some of your favorite face masks? Let me know in the comments!

As always thanks for stopping by!

Kristen

P.S. Since you guys last heard from me I got a new kitten! If you follow me on Instagram you already know this. Her name is River Song, she's a Lynx Point Siamese. She's a very sweet girl and I love her so much! I mean just look at that face, how could you not love her!?

May 2017 ipsy Review & Giveaway Announcement

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share my May ipsy bag with you. I love ice cream so I really love the bag design this month. Not only is it super cute but it's also water resistant, making it perfect to bring along to the beach or pool. It's perfect for summertime! {Subscribe to ipsy here if you'd like.}

Before we jump into the details, I wanted to tell you about my giveaway on Instagram. Once I hit 2200k I'm giving away a May ipsy bag that is almost identical to mine. The only difference is the lipstick, the winner will be getting a red lip crayon instead. They will also be getting some other goodies as well as some samples. There will also be a second prize winner who will be receiving a bag with Wet n Wild goodies plus some other extras and samples! If you're interested in entering head over to my Instagram. There's a photo that you can get an early entry in.

Okay now let's get to it...

What I got in my bag:

Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude.

This is such a pretty color. The lipstick smells really nice, like coconuts. It feels really soft and moisturizing on your lips. I'll definitely be getting a lot of use out of this during the summer months.

Jelly Pong Pong Supercharged Super Intense Eyeshadow Duo in Electric.

These colors are very pretty. I love the slight shimmer in them. They are also super pigmented and creamy. I've only swatched them, but I can't wait to use them next time I do my makeup!!

Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Surfer Girl.

This color is perfect for summer. It's such a bright and fun shade. It's supposed to have a gel effect so it won't chip easily, which appeals to me. I can't wait to paint my nails with it!

Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin

This highlighter is so so beautiful. It will definitely give your skin a lovely summer glow!

Luxie Beauty
Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660

This brush feels very soft. I'm not sure that I'll be using it as a foundation brush, I'll most likely be using it as a blush/highlight brush. I'm a fan of Luxie's brushes so I look forward to using this one!

My overall thoughts:

I enjoyed the contents of this bag and the bag itself this month. Everything is really nice and I feel like I am going to get a lot of use out of the products.

What did you get in your ipsy bag this month?

The Crème Shop: Drink Up, Skin! Face Mask Review

Thursday, May 11, 2017

Hey guys! Welcome back to my little blog. Today I wanted to do a little review of  The Crème Shop's Drink Up, Skin! Face Mask. I was lucky enough to win a face mask giveaway over on Instagram from @polishedandbubbly {find her blog here}. I won a bunch of lovely face masks that I'm super excited to try. When I saw this one I just knew that I had to review it for you guys! :)

Okay review time...

Not only is the packaging super cute, but the mask itself is also really adorable. It's like a Snapchat filter in real life!! I mean, who doesn't love penguins!? The mask feels super refreshing on your skin. You can refrigerate it before hand for a little while for a cooling effect - which I really enjoyed! I left mine on for about 20 minutes; I felt like my skin was in need of some extra love and care. You can leave it on for 10-15 minutes or until the mask is dry. The mask left my skin feeling hydrated and looking glowy. I was very impressed by it. I will definitely be using this mask again in the future.

You can find & purchase the mask for only $4.00 here.

LadyKin Affinitic Snail Cream Review

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today I wanted to do a review of the LadyKin Affinitic Snail Cream. If you read my March ipsy bag review you might remember this cute little snail cream. Well, I loved it so much that I just had to get a bigger one.

Beauty trends are always coming up with something weird to put on our face. Bee venom, seaweed, placentas and now, snail mucus. Now I don’t mind snails, I think they are pretty cute. But the thought of their mucus kind of grosses me out. However, I put my issues aside to test this out and I couldn't be more impressed by the results!

I know that you might be thinking, "ew why-on-Earth would I want something that comes from snails on my face!?" But, hear me out! I have fairly dry skin and it's challenging to find a good face moisturizer that really works for me. This product leaves my skin feeling so soft. Plus, the packaging is super adorable. Even when the cream is used up (which will take a while, there is a lot in there! And a little goes a long way). I will be keeping it to put something in there for sure.

This paraben-free snail cream is less of a cream and more of a gel-cream hybrid consistency. I would liken it to mixing Philosophy Hope in a Jar with Hydraluron Serum! It’s very hydrating and I can feel it doing my skin the world of good every time I use it. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue like some facial moisturizers do. It also contains extracts of rosemary, chamomile, allantoin and tea tree to assist in improving damaged skin. It feels very soothing on your skin.

If you have dry skin I highly recommend checking this product out. You can find the full size (20 ml) on Amazon for $22. {find it here.}

{Even the box is cute!}

{Here is the little one that I got in my March ipsy bag.}

Korean Queens suggests recycling the snail shaped pot into a flower pot when you’re finished! I thought this was a cute idea, so I wanted to share! I think some cacti would look so adorable in these!

Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette Review

Saturday, April 29, 2017

Hello! Thanks for checking out my little corner of the internet! Today I wanted to talk about the Too Faced Cat Eyes eyeshadow palette. This is the first ever Too Faced product that I've tried {and the only one that's in my collection currently. I'm kind of broke haha}. I really like this palette. It's easy to use because it's all laid out for you. It's perfect if you're limited on time to get ready. The eyeshadows are very soft and creamy. They go on smoothly and blend out nicely. The colors are all really beautiful as well.

I have most used the "Day" ones; I love a natural look and I think these shades are perfect for just that. I think my favorite shade in the whole palette is 'Tiger's Eye'. Fun fact about me: I am obsessed with golden shades. So obviously this would be my favorite one.

{Here are the shades in natural light.  I'm sorry that the inside is messy.}

{Here are the shades with flash. Look at all the glitter! I love it! Also, I'm sorry for any cat hair you might see in any of these pictures. My cats are shedding their winter coats like crazy.}

Have you guys tried this palette? What are some of your favorite Too Faced products?
