LadyKin Affinitic Snail Cream Review

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Hello, welcome to my blog! Today I wanted to do a review of the LadyKin Affinitic Snail Cream. If you read my March ipsy bag review you might remember this cute little snail cream. Well, I loved it so much that I just had to get a bigger one.

Beauty trends are always coming up with something weird to put on our face. Bee venom, seaweed, placentas and now, snail mucus. Now I don’t mind snails, I think they are pretty cute. But the thought of their mucus kind of grosses me out. However, I put my issues aside to test this out and I couldn't be more impressed by the results!

I know that you might be thinking, "ew why-on-Earth would I want something that comes from snails on my face!?" But, hear me out! I have fairly dry skin and it's challenging to find a good face moisturizer that really works for me. This product leaves my skin feeling so soft. Plus, the packaging is super adorable. Even when the cream is used up (which will take a while, there is a lot in there! And a little goes a long way). I will be keeping it to put something in there for sure.

This paraben-free snail cream is less of a cream and more of a gel-cream hybrid consistency. I would liken it to mixing Philosophy Hope in a Jar with Hydraluron Serum! It’s very hydrating and I can feel it doing my skin the world of good every time I use it. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue like some facial moisturizers do. It also contains extracts of rosemary, chamomile, allantoin and tea tree to assist in improving damaged skin. It feels very soothing on your skin.

If you have dry skin I highly recommend checking this product out. You can find the full size (20 ml) on Amazon for $22. {find it here.}

{Even the box is cute!}

{Here is the little one that I got in my March ipsy bag.}

Korean Queens suggests recycling the snail shaped pot into a flower pot when you’re finished! I thought this was a cute idea, so I wanted to share! I think some cacti would look so adorable in these!

Thanks for stopping by!

Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette Review

Saturday, April 29, 2017

Hello! Thanks for checking out my little corner of the internet! Today I wanted to talk about the Too Faced Cat Eyes eyeshadow palette. This is the first ever Too Faced product that I've tried {and the only one that's in my collection currently. I'm kind of broke haha}. I really like this palette. It's easy to use because it's all laid out for you. It's perfect if you're limited on time to get ready. The eyeshadows are very soft and creamy. They go on smoothly and blend out nicely. The colors are all really beautiful as well.

I have most used the "Day" ones; I love a natural look and I think these shades are perfect for just that. I think my favorite shade in the whole palette is 'Tiger's Eye'. Fun fact about me: I am obsessed with golden shades. So obviously this would be my favorite one.

{Here are the shades in natural light.  I'm sorry that the inside is messy.}

{Here are the shades with flash. Look at all the glitter! I love it! Also, I'm sorry for any cat hair you might see in any of these pictures. My cats are shedding their winter coats like crazy.}

Have you guys tried this palette? What are some of your favorite Too Faced products?

Revlon PhotoReady & Crowdtap Review

Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting my blog! Today I wanted to share some free samples that I got from Revlon through Crowdtap! If you're not familiar with Crowdtap it's a website that offers you free samples and gift cards in exchange for your honest opinions. I have earned three $5 Amazon gift cards so far! I'm new to the site myself so I'm still learning it. These are my first samples that I've received through them.  I haven't used a lot of Revlon products in the past so I was excited to try these out and see how they worked and held up. {You can join Crowdtap here.}

Revlon PhotoReady Highlight & Blush Duo.
                        The highlight shade is in Pink Light and the blush shade is in Rose Gold Kiss.
The highlight stick is very pretty! It makes for the perfect natural glow. It is perfect if you're like me & like a light and subtle highlight.
The blush shade is really pretty as well. It also is very natural and soft.
They both apply very easily and blend out beautifully.

{Highlight Pink Light on the left & blush Rose Gold Kiss on the right.}

Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer.
This primer works very nicely! It made my skin super smooth and soft. It made my makeup application much easier. I was surprised by how well this worked!

April 2017 ipsy Review

Monday, April 17, 2017

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my little blog. I'm sorry that I haven't posted lately. I have been in a little bit of a funk these past few weeks. However, I am back now to share my April ipsy bag with you!

{As always I'll include my referral link if you haven't signed up for ipsy yet. Click here.}

Okay let's get to it...

What I got:

- OFRA Cosmetics Peach Blush. This blush is so pretty. It also works as an eyeshadow and a highlighter. It feels really soft and it has a lovely slight shimmer to it. I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.

- Luseta Beauty Volume Reviving Dry Shampoo in Potpourri. I've only used this once so far, however, I was really impressed. It made my hair look fresh and added a lot of volume. AND did I mention how lovely it smells!?

- defy & Inspire Wear Resistant Nail Lacquer in Paradise Island. I couldn't think of a better nail polish color for spring! It is so so pretty. I can't wait to paint my nails with this stunning shade. You can find this brand exclusively at Target.

- Ciaté London Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Palm Island. I have a hard time finding the right bronzer for my pale skin tone. This one is absolutely perfect for me! It feels so soft and goes on so nicely. It's also very pigmented - a little definitely goes a long way!

- Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush. The inner child in me was so excited to be getting this. Like most little girls who grew up in the 90s/2000s I was obsessed with all things Lisa Frank. I just love the fun colorful design of this brush (I mean, who doesn't love unicorns?) The brush itself is really soft and makes applying your blush & bronzer a breeze!

{A closer look at the Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush. Isn't it just adorable?}

My finial thoughts:

This month's bag was super cute, fun, and creative. The products were all really nice things that I am going to get a lot of use out of. I was very happy and impressed with my bag. I look forward to seeing what next month's bag is going to be!

March 2017 ipsy Review

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Hi guys! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet! It's time to share my March ipsy Glam Bag with you. I'm really excited for this month's bag! If you aren't familiar with ipsy, it's this awesome subscription bag service that gives you five beauty samples that are customized to fit your beauty profile. It's a great way to try and find new beauty products. As always, if you haven't signed up for ipsy yet and would like to please feel free to use my referral link

What was in my bag:

- INT Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Goddess Gold. I really love this shade and the eyeshadow itself feels super smooth and creamy. The pigmentation is very lovely also. I can't wait to actually wear this!
- So Susan Blush & Glow. This blush is really unique! It adjusts to be the perfect shade for your skin tone. The formula also seems really nice!
- Ladykin Affinitic Snail Cream. I've only used this once since getting my ipsy bag. However, I noticed that my skin felt hydrated and soft after.
- tarte cosmetics tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in rosé. This is a really beautiful shade. It doesn't feel drying on your lips like some other matte lipsticks might.
- ModelCo Eye Define Retractable Crayon Liner in Black. I was in need of a new eyeliner so I was very happy to see that I was getting one in my bag this month. I've only swatched it, but it seems to go on smoothly and it is super pigmented. I'm looking forward to using it for a winged look.

{A closer look at the So Susan Blush & Glow.

My final thoughts: I really loved this month's bag. The bag was really cute and perfect for spring. I loved the Parisian feel of it. It definitely makes up for the lack of creativity in February's bag. The products are all ones that I love and I'm going to get a lot of use out of.  :)

What did you think of this month's bag? Have you tried any of these products before?

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Review

Saturday, March 04, 2017

Hello! Today I wanted to share my thoughts about the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips. These are my first ColourPop liquid lipsticks that I've used. I have three shades, (as pictured top to bottom, Mink, Avenue, and Smitten. I really love all of these colors! The formula is very so creamy and soft, which makes it super easy to apply. It dries down to this beautiful matte that doesn't make your lips feel dried out like some other matte lippies out there do. I also have experienced no color transfer or flaking while wearing these.  I believe that two shades (Mink and Smitten) are no longer sold on their website sadly. However, you can still buy new ones if you do some digging around online.
You can browse ColourPop's website here. They have a lot of affordable great quality items.

{Top to bottom: Mink, Avenue, and Smitten.}
Here are some dried down swatches for you to get a better idea of how they look.

--

Mink: This is a really beautiful nude. It's a deep greyed out mauve brown. It's super neutral and could go along perfectly with nearly any makeup look. You could use this with a simple makeup look or a more glammed up night out kind of look.
Avenue: This is the perfect classic bright red lip. This is my go-to when I want a cute lip that isn't too overwhelming! You could also dress this one up or down for a more casual glam look. {Buy here.}
Smitten: This is a lovely deep red violet shade. It is perfect for a date night look. I also really like this shade for a fall/winter lip color.

e.l.f. Hydrating Bubble Mask Review

Sunday, February 26, 2017

Hi guys, welcome back to my little blog!
Today I wanted to share this awesome face mask that I've been using lately.

I received this in an Influenster VoxBox a while ago, and I've been loving it. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me talk about it a few times there. This is the first skin care product that I've ever tried out from e.l.f.  I'm a fan of a lot of their makeup products so I was excited to see that they have skin care now. They are known for making affordable products that are still good quality. This mask is only $14 on their website which I think is a great price for how well this product works.

--

It's really simple to use, you apply a thin layer to your slightly damp skin and and it will start to bubble up like you can see in the pictures above. The mask will feel pretty tingly. After the bubbles start to become... less bubbly(?) {this will happen about 5-10 minutes after you put the mask on}, you rub in the rest into your skin and then rinse and gently dry your face. Follow with your moisturizer and you're done!

--

My skin feels so moisturized and so soft! It was feeling very dry due to the windy weather here, but now it feels softer than before. I forgot to include "after" photos so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. It really does feel so much better.

If you're interested in buying this product you can do so here.

Have you used this product before, or any other of e.l.f.'s skin care products? Let me know in the comments down below!

xx,
 Kristen.
