My Current Skin Care Routine

Thursday, December 22, 2016

Hello! Today I thought that I'd share what my current skin care routine is like.
First I should mention, I have dry to normal skin and it's very sensitive to most products. Obviously everyone's skin is different and what works for me may not work for you. My skin care routine is always changing. I love trying new products out and switching it up. This is my current skin care line up. As I said above it's always subject to change as I get samples or just feel like trying something new out.

Cleansing wipes: Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. I have been using this Simple cleansing wipes for a long time now and I love them! They do an amazing job at removing my makeup and getting it all out of my pores.
Micellar Water: Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. Again, this is something that I've been using for probably a few years now. I use it after I use the face wipes to make sure all of my makeup is gone. It refreshes and cleans my face deep down to my pores. Side note - if you haven't tried Simple I'd recommend that you do (especially if you have sensitive skin like myself). I really love a lot of their products!
Face wash: I've been using this Elizabeth Arden 2-in-1 Cleanser for the past week or so. I really like it so far. It says that it's for all skin types. It makes my face feel fresh and clean. It also has a nice scent to it. It has been doing a great job at clearing up my annoying occasional blemishes.
Toner: I have been using Thayers Rose Petal Toner since the summer and I'm in love. It has witch hazel and aloe vera which are amazing for your skin. It leaves my face feeling deeply cleaned and keeps blemishes away. AND it smells heavenly! Who doesn't love the smell of roses!?
Cotton rounds: I use these for my micellar water and tonerI prefer using cotton rounds rather than using cotton balls. I feel like they are less messy and cover larger areas of your face. These are from Target but really any brand will work just fine.
Face masks: I use one of these once a week. These are the ones that I have been using lately: e.l.f.'s Hydrating Bubble Mask and Pure Body Naturals Dead Sea Mud Mask. The e.l.f. one is great to use when my skin in need of a good cleaning (i.e. if I have a gross blemish). It bubbles up and you rinse it off. It leaves my skin feeling very clean. The dead sea mask is wonderful if my skin is feeling really dry and in need of some hydration. You leave it on for about 10-15 minutes and then rise it away. Both are very good masks in my opinion. They both minimize your pores and remove blackheads.
Moisturizers: Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion +. I have been using this for almost two months now. It's a really nice product. It hydrates my skin without clogging pores, causing breakouts, or causing my skin to be oily. I use it on my face and neck morning and night.
Next is Hey Honey's Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum. I received this in an ipsy bag recently and I really like it. It helps a lot with any dry patches, which I've been getting thanks to this lovely winter weather.

L'Oréal Hair Expert Extraordinary Clay Review

Monday, December 19, 2016

{I received these products in an Infulenster VoxBox.}

I am in love with these! I just had to share my thoughts on them with you. This is going to be a fairly short and to the point post.

My bangs/roots usually get oily after sleeping, with these products that is no longer an issue. My hair looks clean and fresh AFTER sleeping. The mask pulls out all of the oils in my roots, it really does what it says. The shampoo deep cleans my hair and has a fresh and enjoyable scent. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized. I should also add that my boyfriend has also been using the shampoo and is a fan of it as well haha! I will definitely be buying these products when I run out. :)

Hello! I just couldn't wait so I'm doing two blog posts today. :)
I won these beautiful soaps by Hand in Hand over on Instagram. They feature lovely illustrations by Emma Block.

Not only are they adorable, but, the company also provides clean water and a bar of soap to a child in need with every purchase! They are also cruelty free and fair trade. How great is that!?
The soaps smell so pretty! They'd make the perfect holiday gift or add a bit of holiday cheer in your home.

December 2016 ipsy Glam Bag Review

Thursday, December 15, 2016

My December ipsy Glam Bag! First can we just take a moment to appreciate the prettiness of the bag this month!? This is my third ipsy bag that I have gotten {I know, I know, I was a little late to the party}. So far I've loved my bags. I think that ipsy is one of the best subscription bags/boxes. I have tried some others that I just didn't like and don't think are worth the money. But, I think ipsy is worth it for sure. For only $10 a month you get some nice customized deluxe sized samples. If you aren't already signed up and want to be use my referral link here.

What I got in my bag:

- OFRA Cosmetics 'Bliss' eyeshadow/highlighter.
- tarte cosmetics Maracuja Oil.
- Marc Anthony True Professional Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Deep Hydrating Treatment.
- Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Matte Lipstick in the shade Pin Up.
- INSPR Duo Brow Highlighter.

Overall, I think that this month's bag was really cute! I really liked the fun texture of the bag and the color is super cute for the holiday season. I wasn't super excited for the products that I received, however, I didn't hate it. I definitely will get good use out of all of these products!

What did you get in your ipsy bag this month?

Lazy Day

Thursday, December 08, 2016

Hi there! I had a pretty lazy day today (which is lovely to have every now and then). I cleaned the house a bit and listened to music and took some photos for upcoming blog posts. I found some of my old books filled with pressed flowers and was just admiring them. This probably sounds weird/boring to you but I thought that I'd share them with you. I just love flowers and pressing them between the pages of old books I love.

 {The yellow ones are wildflowers that grow outside of my house and the white ones are flowers that Peter got me for Valentine's Day.}

Here's a little video:

I love old books. The smell is so lovely and makes me feel so happy and relaxed, It's one of my all time favorite scents!

I hope that you all had a nice day today. xx

Hello

Monday, December 05, 2016

So I decided to start a blog... again. This time I'm going to stick with it, even if no one else ever reads it. It's something that I've wanted to do for a long while now. I thought that it was about time to stop daydreaming about it and just finally do it already. So here we are. It's raining outside and I've got my two cats next to me on the couch while I listen to music and rain softly in the background and type my very first post on this blog. My vision for this blog is to share my life with the world. So expect a lot of photos, beauty related things, and random posts mixed it. I hope that you join me in my little blogging journey.

Please stay tuned.
